SKCET

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year
2012 and it is headed by Dr. D. Maruthachalam. The department has
dedicated faculty with total strength of 13 faculty members, four with

doctorates, seven pursuing their doctorates leading to deep search in

research and development activities and the remaining with post
graduate qualification with specialization in all major areas of Civil
Engineering. Our faculty members thrive to maintain the academic

and research excellence, focus to provide a world class education for
the students. We all act as a reinforcement to build a strong foundation

utilizing all our knowledge and well-established laboratory
infrastructure with which students excel in career of Civil Engineering

extraordinarily. Over the years, the Department has nurtured young
minds to produce talented Civil Engineers. The department as a team
constantly focuses in motivating our students to participate and excel

in global events and also won in many prestigious events such

INSTAG, Smart India Hackathon, etc., The Department is highly
fascinated in conducting Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and
Short-term courses funded by various agencies like DST, SERB, AICTE,

ISTE and MoEF. Our department has also signed a Memorandum of

Understanding with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) –
Coimbatore Centre, Builders Association of India - Coimbatore
Centre, for In-plant training, Internship and Placement through which

students are trained as a professional in their time spent with us.

As a department we always enjoyed our proud past, we celebrate
fabulous present and we believe strongly in deserving future.
