About The Institution
Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Coimbatore was established in the year 1998 for providing quality technical education to the young minds of the state. It is run by Sri Krishna Institutions along with Four other educational institutions and it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by AICTE. The college was granted Autonomous status in the year 2011 due to its significant growth in short span of time. The Institution has been accredited by NAAC with Grade ‘A++’ (3.71 CGPA) and the UG Courses in Engineering, viz, Civil, Mechanical, ECE, EEE, MCT, CSE and IT have been accredited by NBA.
The college has now grown in size and stature with 6600 students pursuing UG and PG programmes. The college has rendered its fruitful service to the society in a spectacular way and it is ranked 83rd by the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF). In all, the college offers 11 Undergraduate Programmes, 1 Integrated M.Tech Programme, 2 Postgraduate Programmes in Engineering and Management and 8 Research Programmes. The Institute is recognized as a research centre for offering Ph.D Programmes.
About The Department
Mechanical Engineering department was established in the year 1998 and it offers one U.G. Degree Programme – B.E. Mechanical Engineering and one P.G. Degree Programme M.E. Engineering Design. In addition, the department is a recognised research centre by Anna University for offering PhD program. More than 30 candidates have completed PhD in the research centre and 31 more are pursuing their research. Well trained and qualified faculty members drawn from leading Industries and academic Institutions form the backbone of the department. The department has received research and development funds to a tune of Rs.580 lakhs from various Government and Private funding agencies like AICTE, DST, UGC and leading Industries.
