B.E. Civil Engineering
About
Civil Engineers design, build and maintain the foundation for our modern society – our roads and bridges, drinking water and energy systems, sea ports and airports and the infrastructure for a cleaner environment. The department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2012. The department holds one U.G. Degree Programme – B.E. Civil engineering with an intake of 69 students. The B.E. Civil Engineering Programme has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for 3 Years. The Department has been recognized as a Centre for carrying out Ph.D. Programme under Anna University, Chennai. Shobha developers, Aarbee structures, Milekal Engineering, Raasi Construction, Six Sigma Company, Adroit Valuers, Stiffener Valuers, Capstone Engineers & Architects and Six Sigma Company along with Accenture, Infosys, TCS, CTS and Wipro are some of the prominent placement companies that visit our campus offering a good package. Eco Green Club, and Social Club are the active clubs of the department and students are encouraged to be a part of professional bodies like American Society of Civil Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers and The Institution of Structural Engineers. Civil Engineers are honed to deploy their skill set in infrastructure projects including construction and maintenance of bridges, power stations, airports, dams, highways, expressways, waterways, industrial units, manufacturing plants, Building and factories.

The Institution of Engineers (India) is the national organization of engineers in India. The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is the largest multi- disciplinary professional body of engineers, established in 1920 with its Headquarters located in Kolkata and incorporated under Royal Charter on 9th September, 1935 by the then His Majesty of King George V. Institution of Engineers (India) is a unique student chapter, comprising of various branches of engineering. The main agenda is to promote interdisciplinary engineering ideas across the institution which is ideal for the current scenario. The student chapter offers space for the current breed of students to showcase their leadership skills by becoming office bearers for every academic year. IE(I) also provides scholarship for the lesser privileged students every year. The IE(I), Coimbatore Local Centre has been one of the active centres of The Institution of Engineers (India) which is engaged in successfully translating the objectives and ethics of IE(I) into practices.
ICI student chapter of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology was incepted with enrolling itself as a life member of Indian Concrete Institute (LM. No.10283) and Inaugurated on 16.07.2014. From that, it is actively progressed with the guidance of faculties to achieve great heights and works relentlessly in imparting knowledge to students by guest lectures by top ranked professionals, field visits, workshops and other events.

IGS Student chapters provide an opportunity and significantly help the Civil Engineering student community through activities such as seminars/workshops/lectures.
Research & Innovation cell (R & I) has been initiated in the department on 27 th of September 2017. The objective of the cell is to encourage students to find innovative and sustainable solutions for the day to day Problems that society is facing in terms of infrastructure. We have segregated various domains in Civil Engg (e.g. Transportation Engg., Structural Engg., & Environmental Engg.,), under which many unaddressed problems are listed out. Team of students will be working on those problems and find innovative & sustainable solutions for it. By this process they will be encouraged to present it to various events in India. By the end, with a faculty guidance publication are also encouraged.
